1. Test Condition
All electrical test is to be conducted with the ambient air at a temperature of 25±5℃.
2. Load capacity:
When the fuse loads through 100% of rated current, should blow within 4 hours.
3. Interrupting Rating:
Breaking Capacity: 50A at 125V/250V AC.
4. Rising Temperature Test:
When the 100% times of Ampere Rating passes the fuse, after reaching thermal balance , the temperature on the fuse surface rising shall not be higher than 75℃. Note: Rising temperature = the Surface temperature - Ambient temperature.

Selection Of The Slow Blow Ceramic Tube Fuse 3.6x10mm 125mA-15A 125V 250V

 

a) Determine the safety mark: According to the market requirements of the product to be sold, select the safety certification mark and safety standard (UL standard or IEC standard fuse tube) of the fuse tube.

 

b) Determine the external size: According to the installation space and the determined safety certification mark and safety standards, select the external size of the fuse tube.

 

c) Determine the model: According to the current characteristics of the protected circuit, select the model of the fuse tube. For example, if the current characteristic of the protected circuit is a constant current, the fast-blow type is selected.

 

d) Determine the rated voltage: Determine the rated voltage of the fuse tube according to the input voltage and use requirements of the protected circuit. For example, if the input voltage of the protected circuit is 220V, a fuse with a rated voltage above 220V must be selected, 250V, 300V, 350V, etc. can be selected; however, considering the cost factor, it is not necessary to select an excessively high rated voltage.

 

e) Determine the minimum rated current: Preliminarily determine the rated current of the fuse tube according to the stable operating current of the protected circuit and the related use loss factor. For example, if the stable operating current of the protected circuit is 1A, and the UL standard time-delay fuse tube is selected, and the working environment temperature is about 80℃, the minimum rated current of the fuse tube is selected: 1A×1.25÷0.5=2.5A.

 

f) Determine the minimum I2T of the fuse: According to the surge I2T of the protected circuit, determine the I2T of the fuse. For example, the surge I2T of the protected circuit is 1 (A2S). To ensure that the fuse can withstand more than 100,000 shocks, the I2T of the fuse should be greater than: 1÷0.2=5 (A2S).

 

g) Determine the rated current of the fuse tube: According to the minimum rated current and minimum I2T value, check the corresponding model specifications in the product catalog, and select the primary rated current specification that is greater than the minimum rated current and its I2T value is also greater than the minimum I2T value as the selected fuse The rated current of the tube. For example, based on the minimum value above,
(1) If the I2T with a rated current of 2.5A is 4.3 A2S, and the I2T with a 3A is 5.4A2S, then take 3A as the rated current of the fuse tube;
(2) If the rated current of 2A I2T is 5.3 A2S, and the 2.5A I2T is 7.6A2S, take 2.5A as the rated current of the fuse tube.
