I Metal Oxide Varistor Description
Metal Oxide Varistor degsigned to provide surge suppression in all kinds of circuits. If high voltage surge came across circuit, normally it will broken circuit and also nearby components. When engineer request circuit protection for voltage surges , a varistor should be choosed to be as a voltage protection device. When voltage surge exceeding varistor voltage is applied, varistor suppresses the voltage to protect the circuit and following components. It works fast in ns level and cost is economic,this is why it is welcomed to power supplies , LED lights etc.
